Hello folks.  The Canadian Arts Night originally set for February 3 at 6PM is now going to be during periods 3 and 4 that afternoon, so please make yourselves available to performa and to be a good audience.  Thanks.  Speak with your individual teachers/conductors for report time details.
Okay folks, we have a reservation at Boston Pizza, Brimley and Progress (across from STC) at 6:15.  I have included everyone in the band, plus Mr. Thomas and myself, so there should be room for 4 more people.  Please let me know who is coming, so I can increase or decrease our numbers as needed.  See you tomorrow!

There are some practice files and YouTube links up on the Music blog for Vocal students.

City News (January 16)
All musicians are reminded to wear their Agincourt C. I. UNIFORMS tomorrow for our exciting MLK performance at Roy Thompson Hall.

We realize that you had a very long day today, but please reflect on the following tomorrow:

Roy Thompson Hall is where the Toronto International Film Festival Gala takes place.

This means that the likes of Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, George Clooney, Robert De Niro, Woody Allen, Madonna and Stephen Spielberg, (the list goes on and on...) have walked across that brown wood you are standing/sitting on.

Leonard Bernstein conducted the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra playing Mahler on that stage shortly before his passing.

Wynton Marsalis, Brandford Marsalis, and Herbie Hancock, have played Jazz together on that stage.

Placido Domingo and Jessie Norman have sung opera on that stage.

The Canadian premiere of Andrew Loyld Weber's REQUIEM MASS was performed on that stage, with the TSO and the late Elmer Isler on the podium.

Bernadette Peters has sung and danced excerpts from her most famous musicals on that stage.

Russel Peters and Robin Williams have done stand up from that stage.

Recently Jack Layton's State Funeral was held on that stage.

...and tomorrow YOU will get to perform there.

Make sure you take a moment and let that opportunity sink in, it may not come again.

Nite nite!

The aci music staff.

Hi boys and girls,

Please check the JAZZ tab at the top for the links to our new charts. Please get them in your ears!

Also - please mark down Wednesday, Feb. 22nd in your calendars as our Musicfest Jazz date. We will be away for most of the day, plan accordingly with your other subjects!

Word,
-Mr. B
Trombone I/II will play the following excerpt for movement I of Bandancing in place of the original excerpt:  Mvt. I, measures 14-21.

Sorry for the late notice, but we will have a brief run through of TODAY IS THE GIFT with the band and Mr. Lum at the beginning of band rehearsal tomorrow evening (Monday, January 9).  There will be a regular Agincourt Singers rehearsal from 3:15-5:00pm, then a break between 5pm and 6pm followed by the run through of the piece with band. I am not sure of the timing of the band rehearsal, so it is possible that the run through may take place at 6:30, stay tuned for more information from Mr. Lum!

Welcome back!

Mr. Pinhorn
Mr. Lum
